Before Resetting Expedition, you will need to drop your BR to increase the odds of willing.
To lower your BR you can change to Lvl 1 weapon
Choose a different pet
After the Reset, you can pick bonus skills. I suggest only pick 10% skills. If you don't see 10% skills, just click the x on top right and try again. It will refresh.
